  • Swearing-in Ceremony of Hon'ble Governor

    Dr. Najma Heptulla was sworn in as the 18th Governor of Manipur at 1130 hours on 21st August, 2016. Acting Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court, Mr. Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad administered the Oath of Office to Dr. Najma Heptulla at a solemn ceremony held at Durbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers, MLAs, leaders of various political parties and high ranking Government officials attended the ceremony.


  • Swearing-in Ceremony of Council of Ministers at Raj Bhavan

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur administered the oaths of office and secrecy to Shri Nongthombam Biren Singh, Leader of the BJP-led Legislature Party as Chief Minister of Manipur for the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly at the Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 15.3.2017. The Hon’ble Governor, on the same day, also administered the oaths of office and secrecy to S/Shri Yumnam Joykumar Singh, Th. Biswajit Singh, L. Jayantakumar Singh, Karam Shyam, Letpao Haokip, N. Kayisii, Th. Shyamkumar and Losii Dikho as Deputy Chief Minister and Ministers respectively for the State of Manipur.   • Cultural Programme at Raj Bhavan

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur alongwith Dr. Rubina Heptulla, daughter and Miss Nadia Naeem, granddaughter witnessed a cultural programme performed by artistes of the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 22.2.2017. Kabui Dance, Naga Dance, Pung Cholom and Basanta Raas were performed.


  • Credit Seminar Conducted by NABARD

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur graced as Chief Guest the State Credit Seminar 2017-18 organised by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Manipur Regional Office on March 6, 2017 at 11.00 a.m. at Raj Bhavan, Imphal.     Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur alongwith her family members witnessed a cultural programme performed by artistes of the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 30.4.2017. Khamba Thoibi Dance, Naga Dance, Pung Cholom and Basanta Raas were performed.


  • 'Clean N Green' Cleanliness and Tree Plantation Campaign on the occasion of Guru Pujah at Raj Bhavan, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur on the occasion of Guru Pujah planted tree saplings at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 22.5.2017. The Hon'ble Governor also planted a tree sapling dedicated to (Late) Anil Madhav Dave, Hon'ble Minister of State (IC) Environment, Forests and Climate Change. Govt. of India. Shri Vikram Sahgal, IPS, IGP, CRPF, M&N Sector, Shri Th. Chittaranjan Singh, IAS, Secretary to the Governor of Manipur and Commissioner (Revenue), Govt. of Manipur, Staff of the Raj Bhavan and CRPF personnel posted at the Raj Bhavan also planted tree saplings at the Raj Bhavan complex on the occasion.


  • Lecture Program of Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Konsam Himalay at Raj Bhavan, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur initiated a lecture programme by Lt. Gen (Retd.) Konsam Himalay Singh at the Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 25.5.2017 about his experience on the war front primarily for the students' community. Around 200 school children attended the programme. Lt. Gen (Retd.) Konsam Himaly Singh delivered lecture on 'My experience in Kargil War - Role of the Indian Army' alongwith a power point presentation of Kargil War, 1999. Among others Shri Th. Biswajit Singh, Hon'ble Minister (PWD), Shri Ram Madhav, BJP National General Secretary also attended the programme.


  • Cultural Programme in honour of Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, Hon'ble Speaker, Lok Sabha at Raj Bhavan, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur hosted a Cultural Programme and Dinner at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 14.6.2017 in honour of Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, Hon'ble Speaker, Lok Sabha who came to attend the 16th Annual Conference of North East Region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association at Manipur Legislative Assembly, Imphal. Speakers, Deputy Speakers of the North Eastern States also witnessed the Cultural Programme.


  • Book Release Function at Raj Bhavan, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur released a book "Lumbini Leikolda Sathouba Leirang" (A travelogue on Nepal visit written by Dr. Jamini Devi) at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 20.7.2017. Padmashree R.K. Jhalajit Singh presided over the function and Prof. Jodhachandra Sanasam spoke about the book.

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur graced as Chief Guest at the cultural programme 'Sankalp Parv' organised by Song & Drama Division, Imphal Centre (Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India) on the occasion of 71st Independence Day Celebration at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on August 29, 2017. Shri L. Jayantakumar Singh, Minister, Art & Culture, Govt. of Manipur and Shri Anurag Misra, Director, Song & Drama Division, New Delhi also attended the programme. Artistes of Song & Drama Division, Imphal Centre performed cultural items including group song – Vande Mataram, Lai Haraoba Dance, Manipuri Martial Arts, Lavani Dance (Maharashtra) and Pung Cholom.


  • Screening of Manipuri Film 'Nangna Kappa Pakchade' at Raj Bhavan, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur watched the Manipuri film 'Nangna Kappa Pakchade' directed by Dr. Makhonmani Mongsaba, produced by Thouyangba and Thoungamba and written by (Late) Maharaj Kumari Binodini Devi at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 4.9.2017. The film produced in the year 2013 has been screened in many International Film Festivals and has received the Special Judge Award with the title 'Epic Mirror of the Century' from Kinshasa International Film Festival. After watching the film, the Hon'ble Governor said that women should fight for their rights and get justice with their courage. Many well-known women working for women empowerment and other art lovers attended the screening of the film.


  • Reception of Manipuri football players who represented India at the Under-17 FIFA World Cup at Raj Bhavan, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur felicitated the Manipuri football players who represented India at the Under-17 FIFA World Cup at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 16.10.2017. The Hon'ble Governor during her interaction with the players and their parents and guardians expressed her happiness and said that she feels proud that U-17 Indian team has the team captain and seven other players from Manipur. The Hon'ble Governor congratulated the parents for supporting their children to play the game.


  • Painting Competition on Energy Conservation at Raj Bhavan, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur graced as Chief Guest at the State Level Painting Competition-2017, held as part of National Awareness Campaign on Energy Conservation, organised by NHPC Limited at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 14.11.2017. Altogether one hundred students took part in the competition in two categories-Group 'A' (4th, 5th and 6th standards) and Group 'B' (7th, 8th and 9th standards). The Hon'ble Governor distributed prizes to the winners of the competition. Certificates and cash prizes were also awarded to ten participants as consolation prizes in each category.

  • Screening of Raas Leela Film and releasing of DVD for 5 kinds of Raas in Manipur at Raj Bhavan, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur and Chairman, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy attended a 30 minutes Special Screening of Raas Leela Film at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 8.6.2018 and also released DVD for 5 kinds of Raas in Manipur. Among others, Shri L. Jayantakumar Singh, Art and Culture Minister, Manipur, Shri Shekhar Sen, Chairman of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, members of Executive Board and General Council of Sangeet Natak Akademi and officials of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal attended the programme.


  • Flag hoisting at the Raj Bhavan, Imphal on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day, 2018

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur hoisted the National Flag on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day at 09.40 a.m. on 15th August, 2018 at Raj Bhavan, Imphal. The function was attended by the officers and staff of the Raj Bhavan and officers and personnel of the CRPF posted at Raj Bhavan, Imphal. After hoisting the National Flag, the Hon'ble Governor distributed sweets to the staff and CRPF personnel attending the function.

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur witnessed a cultural programme at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 12.1.2019. The programme - Sarangi Recital by Ustad Kamal Shabri was organised by SPIC MACAY Imphal Chapter under its 'Viraasat' series, 2018-19.   • State Level Gaan-Ngai Festival curtain-raiser event at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 16.1.2019

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur attended the curtain-raiser event of the State Level Gaan-Ngai Festival organized by the State Level Gaan-Ngai Celebration Committee, Manipur in collaboration with the Tingkao Ragwang Chapraik Phuam on 16.1.2019 at Raj Bhavan, Imphal. The State Level Gaan-Ngai Festival would be held on January 19, 2019 at Chingmeirong, Imphal. Speaking at the event, the Hon'ble Governor expressed her happiness that the Gaan-Ngai festival is beginning from Raj Bhavan and hoped that the celebration would continue every year at the Raj Bhavan. She also wished the people of the State a good harvest, prosperity and development.

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur, on the occasion of the World Environment Day on 5.6.2019, planted saplings to promote a greener environment in the premises of Raj Bhavan, Imphal. Alumni of DM College of Science, Imphal 1995-1998 Batch also took part in the drive.

    The 5th International Day of Yoga was observed at the Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 21.6.2019. Dr. Najma Heptulla, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur alongwith officers and staffs of the Raj Bhavan and CRPF personnel posted at Raj Bhavan, Imphal participated in the observance of the 5th International Day of Yoga. The Hon'ble Governor in her message after the yoga session said, "let us all pledge to make it a part of our daily lives for overall well-being".

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur launched Innovative Craft Souvenirs of Manipur and MEETAC Website and unveiled Craft Map of Manipur at the Darbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 14.9.2019. Shri Th. Biswajit Singh, Hon'ble Minister (Textiles, Commerce & Industries) and Chairman, MEETAC and other dignitaries also attended the function. The Hon'ble Governor distributed certificates to trained artisans and also inspected the Display of Exhibits by the artisans.

  • Flagging In Organic Farming Tour at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 12.10.2019

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur flagging in the 'Organic Farming Tour' organized by 4th Bn. Assam Rifles (Sajik Battalion) at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 12.10.2019. The tour to Sikkim was organized by 4th Bn. Assam Rifles from 24th September, 2019 to 10th October, 2019 and altogether fifty farmers including 19 female farmers from six North Eastern States viz. Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Tripura participated in the tour. The function was attended among others by Maj Gen KP Singh IGAR(South), Brig Neelesh Bhanot, Cdr 28 Sector, Assam Rifles.

  • State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation, 2019 at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 14.11.2019

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur graced as Chief Guest at the State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation organized by NHPC Ltd. in association with Govt. of Manipur, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Ltd as a part of the National Awareness Campaign launched by the Ministry of Power for promoting energy conservation in the country at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 14.11.2019. Altogether one hundred and ten students took part in the competition in two categories - Group 'A' (4th, 5th and 6th standards) and Group 'B' (7th, 8th and 9th standards). Shri L. Jayantakumar Singh, Hon'ble Minister, Art & Culture, L.     Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur released a book entitled "Dance Bouquet" edited by Dr. Khangembam Khoni and published by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Regional Office Shillong in a function at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 3.12.2019. Shri Jarnail Singh, Administrator, Manipur University, Shri Bobby Waikhom, Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University of Culture also attended the function which was organized by ICCR, Regional Office, Shillong.

  • Governor's visit to Loktak Floating Elementary School, Sendra(Moirang) in Bishnupur District

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur alongwith Dr. Rubina Heptulla, daughter and Miss Nadia Naeem, granddaughter visited Loktak and Sendra on February 23, 2017. Hon'ble Governor in an interaction programme jointly organised by District Project Officer, SSA, Bishnupur, People's Resource Development Association and All Loktak Areas Fishermen's Union, Manipur interacted with students of Loktak Floating Elementary School at Sendra Resort, Moirang. Miss Nadia Naeem distributed school bags to the students of Loktak Floating Elementary School.

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur alongwith her family members visited 42 Assam Rifles HQ, Sendra and Loktak Lake in Bishnupur district on April 28, 2017. Hon'ble Governor interacted with the Assam Rifles officials at 42 Assam Rifles HQ, Sendra. She also discussed with the concerned District Level Officers issues pertaining to preservation of the Loktak Lake. Hon'ble Governor alongwith the family members boating in the Loktak Lake.


  • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Pheidinga Orchidarium, Imphal West and CRPF campus, Chilchil village in Kangpokpi district

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur alongwith her family members visited Pheidinga Orchidarium, Imphal West district and CRPF campus, Chilchil village in Kangpokpi district on 29.4.2017. Hon'ble Governor was happy to see various kinds of orchids and flowers blooming in the Orchidarium and she advised the concerned officials of the Forest Department to expand and develop the present Orchidarium. Then she alongwith the family members visited CRPF campus, Chilchil village in Kangpokpi district. She interacted with the CRPF officials there.


  • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Ima Keithel, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Temporary Market Shed and Ima Keithel on 13.6.2017 and met leaders of the Keithel Nupi Lups and women vendors and interacted with them. The Hon'ble Governor was warmly welcomed by the Keithel Nupi Lups and women vendors and presented gifts. She inspected the condition of the Ima Keithel and discussed the problems faced by the women vendors and assured that she would take up the issues with the State Government as well as Central Government to improve the condition of the Ima Keithel.


  • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Pheidinga Orchidarium, Imphal and CRPF campus, Chilchil, Kangpokpi district

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur alongwith her guests visited Pheidinga Orchidarium, Imphal West district and CRPF training campus, Chilchil village in Kangpokpi district on 24.8.2017. At the training centre, the Hon'ble Governor interacted with officers and men of the CRPF and witnessed different drills and various trainings underway there. Shri Vikram Sahgal, IGP, Manipur & Nagaland Sector, CRPF briefed the Governor in detail about the training programme.


  • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Tengnoupal (Tengnoupal District)

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Tengnoupal district headquarters on August 30-31, 2018. She was accorded warm welcome at Tengnoupal Community Hall. The Hon'ble Governor discussed developmental issues of the District with the Government officials and also met public leaders. As a part of the programme, a cultural programme was presented by Mate Cultural Troupe and Cultural Troupe of Tengnoupal Youth Club. Various civil society organisations including Kuki Chief Association, Kuki Students Organisation, Tengnoupal, Tengnoupal Village Authority, Meitei Council Moreh and Chief of Khudengthabi submitted memorandums highlighting their needs to the visiting Governor.


  • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Children Home, Dewlahland and Tabitha Children Home, Mantripukhri, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Children Home, Dewlahland and Tabitha Children Home, Raphei Valley, Mantripukhri, Imphal East on 26.3.2019 and extended Yaoshang Greetings. The Hon'ble Governor distributed sweets to the children of the both homes and interacted with them. The Hon'ble Governor also extended financial assistance to both the children homes.

  • Republic Day Celebrations, 2017 at Kangla, Imphal

    The 68th Republic Day Celebration was observed in the State Capital, District Head Quarters and Sub-Divisional Head Quarters of the State of Manipur on 26/1/2017. Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur unfurled the National Flag at Kangla and took the salute of the contingents of the March Past.


  • Martyrs Day at Gandhi Memorial Hall, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur attended the Martyrs Day function at Gandhi Memorial Hall, Imphal on 30.1.2017. Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Council of Ministers and State Govt. officials also attended the function.


  • BCF India at Hotel Classic Grande and Flaging-off rally at Kangla Gate

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur graced as Chief Guest the Inaugural Function of the 21st National Conference of Breast Cancer Foundation of India on March 5, 2017 at 6.30 p.m. at Hotel Classic Grande, Imphal. Next day, the Hon'ble Governor flagged-off a rally organized to create breast cancer awareness amongst women in connection with '21st Annual Conference of Breast Cancer Foundation of India' from Kangla Western Gate, Imphal at 8.30 a.m.


  • Khongjom Day Celebration, 2017 at Khongjom War Memorial, Khebaching, Thoubal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur attended as Chief Guest the Khongjom Day Celebration, 2017 at Khongjom War Memorial, Khebaching, Thoubal District on 23.4.2017. Shri N. Biren Singh, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Shri Y. Joykumar Singh, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, MLAs, Government officials attended the function. The Hon'ble Governor and other dignitaries laid floral wreaths at the Khongjom War Memorial and the Paona Brajabashi Statue, offered Tarpon at Khongjom River and prayed at the Sankirtan.


  • Closing Ceremony of Shirui Lily Festival, 2017 at TNL Ground, Ukhrul

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur attended as Chief Guest in the Closing Ceremony of Shirui Lily Festival on 20.5.2017 at TNL Ground, Ukhrul. Shri Y. Khemchand Singh, Hon'le Speaker, Manipur Legislative Assembly, Shri L. Jayantakumar Singh, Minister (Health), Shri Letpao Haokip, Minister (IFCD), Shri Th. Radheshyam Singh, Minister (Education) and Government officials attended the function.


  • Visit to NCC Group HQ, Imphal

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited NCC Group HQ, D.M. College campus, Imphal on 7-7-2017 and interacted with the cadets taking part in the NCC camp of the school cadets, both boys and girls. Addressing the cadets, the Governor opined that NCC should become mandatory for every student because NCC instills the feeling of nationalism which is needed for national integration. She handed over the Cadet Welfare Society scholarship to the meritorious cadets. Brigadier Vivek Sharma, Group Commander, NCC Group, Imphal and instructors also attended the programme.

    Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur graced as Chief Guest at the Folk Dance Festival and Beating of the Retreat at the 1st Bn. Manipur Rifles Parade Ground, Imphal on 27.1.2018. The Hon’ble Governor gave away prizes to winners of various categories in connection with the 69th Republic Day celebration and accorded befitting honour to 10 Village Chiefs and Headmen by presenting red blankets.
