  • Swearing-in Ceremony of Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers at Raj Bhavan Lawn, Imphal on 21.03.2022

    Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur administered the oath of office and secrecy to Shri Nongthombam Biren Singh, Leader of the BJP Legislature Party as Chief Minister of Manipur for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly at the Raj Bhavan Lawn on 21.03.2022. The Hon'ble Governor, on the same day, also administered the oaths of office and secrecy to S/Shri Thongam Biswajit Singh, MLA, Yumnam Khemchand Singh, MLA, Konthoujam Govindas Singh, MLA, Smt. Nemcha Kipgen, MLA and Shri Awangbow Newmai, MLA as Minister for the State of Manipur. Among others Km. Pratima Bhoumik, Union Minister of State of Social Justice & Empowerment, Shri JP Nadda, National President, BJP, Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister, Assam, Shri Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Minister, Tripura, Shri. Rajen Singh, MLA-elect as Member of Legislative Assembly for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly at the Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 13/03/2022. Shri Nongthombam Biren Singh, Hon'ble Chief Minister (Caretaker), Shri Y. Khemchand Singh, Shri Th. Biswajit Singh, Shri Govindas Konthoujam, Shri L.   • Swearing-in Ceremony of Hon'ble Governor

    Shri La. Ganesan was sworn in as the Governor of Manipur at 1000 hours on 27th August, 2021. The Hon'ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur P.V. Sanjay Kumar administered the Oath of Office to Shri La. Ganesan at a solemn ceremony held at Durbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Speaker, Ministers, MLAs, leaders of various political parties and high ranking Government officials attended the ceremony.

    • Investiture Ceremony at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 14.08.2022

      An investiture ceremony was conduct at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 14/08/2022. Speaking on the occasion, Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur said that Assam Rifles has been doing tremendous job not only in security but also in many fields and played important roles in the 2nd World Wars. Apart from engaging in counter insurgency operations and in maintaining law and order by helping civil administration. The Hon'ble Governor continued that the force has been working actively in the difficult terrain of the North East. In the glorious history of its existence, Assam Rifles has been known for their dedication, honesty, achievement and most importantly for the sacrifices made by the valiant officers and jawans. The Hon’ble Governor presented gold and silver medals to 51 officers and jawans of Assam Rifles during the ceremony. Inspector General, Assam Rifles (South), Major General Rajan Sharawat, Additional Chief Secretaries, MH Khan, P. Vaiphei, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. N. Lokendro of Manipur University and Director. Prof. A. Santa of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences attended the ceremony.


    • Observance of the 8th International Day of Yoga at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 21.6.2022

      The 8th International Day of Yoga was observed at the Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 21.6.2022. Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur, officers and staffs of the Raj Bhavan, as well as attached staff and CRPF personnel posted at Raj Bhavan, Imphal participated in the observance of the 8th International Day of Yoga. The Hon'ble Governor in his message after the yoga session said, "Let us all pledge to make it a part of our daily lives for overall well-being". He also lauded the yoga trainers of AYUSH Department, Government of Manipur and those who took part in the yoga session.


    • Netaji Subhash Moirang UTSAV-2022 at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 13.4.202.

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur hosted a lunch for the representatives of Ex-servicemen at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 13.4.2022 and greeted the team of Akhil Bharatiya Poorva Sainik Sewa Parishad (ABPSSP) who came down to Imphal in connection with the observance of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Moirang Utsav 2022. It may be mentioned that Lt. Colonel Shaukat Malik of the Indian National Army, for the first time on Indian soil under the British Rule, hoisted the tricolour at Moirang on 14 April, 1944. The Hon'ble Governor, talking to representatives of ABPSSP, said that the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to all round development and welfare of the people.


    • High tea with the Bikers of 'North East on Wheels' New Expedition at Raj Bhavan,Imphal on 13.4.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur hosted high tea for the Bikers of 'North East on Wheels' New Expedition at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 13.4.2022. The expedition was organized by Amazing Namaste Foundation marking celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and flagged off from Guwahati on April 9, 2022. The Hon’ble Governor thanked the team for their initiative to explore the beauty of the North East.


    • Flag-Off the Army Medical Corps Motorcycle Expedition from Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 12.4.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur flagged off Army Medical Corps Motorcycle Expedition team from Raj Bhavan, Imphal for Kohima on 12.4.2022. The team was led by Colonel Rajesh Adhau, SM. The Hon'ble Governor thanked the team members and wished them to complete their expedition.


    • Holi at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 19.03.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur witnessed Holi Pala singers and dance at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 19.03.2022. 14 groups of different Holi Pala singers from valley districts of Manipur performed Holi Pala dance and hymn "Hari Bol" praising Lord Krishna and Radha as a part of Holi celebration.


    • Investiture Ceremony at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 31.01.2022.

      An investiture ceremony was held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 31.01.2022. Speaking on the occasion, Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur lauded the Assam Rifles (AR) for taking a leading role in curbing the drug menace in the State and expressed satisfaction to know that IGAR (South) recovered drugs worth approximately Rs 1800 crore. He further said that Assam Rifles is very popular, particularly in the Northeast, and therefore, nowadays known as "Sentinels of North East". The Hon'ble Governor handed over four Citations to 16th AR, 20th AR, 24th AR and 25th AR and one appreciation letter to Major General Alok Naresh, IGAR (South). Shri P. Doungel, DGP, Manipur, Shri M.H. Khan, Addl. Chief Secretary and Shri P. Vaiphei, Addl. Chief Secretary attended the ceremony among other special invitees and guests.


    • Flag Hoisting at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on the occasion of Republic Day, 2022 on 26.01.2022.

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur hoisted the National Flag on the occasion of Republic Day, 2022 at 0730 hours at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 26.01.2022. The function was attended by the officers and staff of the Raj Bhavan and officers and personnel of the CRPF posted at Raj Bhavan, Imphal. After hoisting the National Flag, the Hon'ble Governor distributed sweets to the CRPF personnel attending the function.


    • Armed Forces Flag Day, 2021 - pinning of the Armed Forces Flag at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 7.12.2021.

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur graced as Chief Guest at the Janajati Gaurav Divas, Birth Anniversary of Bhagawan Birsa Munda organized by Kalyan Ashram Manipur at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Imphal. The Hon'ble Governor also released the Pictorial book on Late Shri Jagadevram Ji Oraon, Former President, Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram.

      Shri La.     • Annual Convocation 2021 of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai (through online) on 17.11.2021

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur graced as Chief Guest at the Annual Convocation Ceremony 2021 of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai through virtual mode on 17.11.2021. The Hon'ble Governor, in his inaugural address, congratulated the graduands and said, "Change is the only thing that is constant. So, adapt to changes by having a vision; a vision which is not perceived by others; and that wisdom will enable you to achieve success".


    • Book Release Function (Through Online) on 14.10.2021

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur released a book titled "Kalki Katha Manjari" authored by Dr. M. Jayaraman (through online) on 14.10.2021. The function was organised by Samskrita Bharati, Chennai.


    • Release of Special Covers of the Unsung Heroes of Manipur at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 13.10.2021

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur released 4 (four) Special Covers on Unsung Heroes of Manipur (Bir Tikendrajit, Thangal General, Paona Brajabashi and Haipou Jadonang) at Raj Bhavan, Imphal. The function was organized by the Postmaster General, North East Circle, Dimapur.


    • Cultural Programme in honour of Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Hon'ble Vice-President of India at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 5.10.2021

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur hosted a Cultural Programme on 5.10.2021 at Raj Bhavan in honour of Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Hon'ble Vice-President of India who visited the State on October 5-6, 2021. Ministers, MLAs and other dignitaries also witnessed the Cultural Programme.


    • National Cleanliness Day on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on 2.10.2021

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur observed the National Cleanliness Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and paid floral tributes to the Mahatma Gandhiji's portrait at Raj Bhavan. The Hon'ble Governor also swept inside the Raj Bhavan campus alongwith the officers and staff of the Raj Bhavan.

    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Lilong Sub-Division, Thoubal District on 21.07.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Lilong Sub-Division, Thoubal District on 21.07.2022. He was accorded a warm welcome by the District Administration, Thoubal at Lilong Bazar Old Market Shed, Lilong. Representatives of civil society organizations and student leaders submitted memoranda raising issues and grievances and urged the Hon'ble Governor to take appropriate steps at the earliest. He had interactions with District Level Officers, representatives of Civil Society Organisations and Student leaders. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon'ble Governor said that the Government is always ready to serve the people and therefore different schemes have been introduced and implemented at the Central and State level and many people have benefited under these schemes. He added that larger issues like improvement of health facilities, providing safe drinking water to every household, improvement of education sector and connectivity etc will be addressed in a time bound manner. Under Jal Jivan Mission, works have been started to augment existing infrastructures of water supply and safe drinking water will be provided to every household. Further, he expressed concern over the increasing number of youths taking to drug abuse and trafficking in the State and urged everyone to cooperate with the Government to stop drug culture. He also announced that a drug de-addiction centre will shortly be opened in Lilong. Shri Bobby Waikhom, Secretary to Governor spoke on early detection and treatment of Tuberculosis (TB) to achieve India's goal of TB eradication by 2025. Alhaj Md Abdul Nasir, Hon'ble MLA, Lilong AC also attended the programme.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Saikul Sub-Division, Kangpokpi District on 12.07.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Saikul Sub-Division, Kangpokpi District on 12.07.2022. On the way, he was accorded warm welcome by villagers at different villages by holding festoons in their hands, District Administration, Kangpokpi accorded him a warm welcome at Hoikhonei Multipurpose Hall, Thangkanphai Village, Saikul, Kangpokpi. The Hon'ble Governor had interactions with Civil Society Organisations, Village authorities and District Level Officers. The Hon’ble Governor heard the issues and grievances faced by the people and assured them to take all possible steps as soon as possible. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon'ble Governor said that the interaction programme was just like a Janata Darbar where people can raise their problems/issues directly to the authorities and it is an opportunity through which genuine grievances can be put up to the higher authorities for necessary action. He also said that as a citizen we should respect our freedom fighters who had sacrificed their lives for the Nation. He asked the people to open a bank account. He urged the public to get vaccinated to protect from COVID pandemic. Smt. Kimneo Hangshing, Hon'ble MLA, Saikul and people from different villages of Saikul area also attended the programme.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Sugnu, Kakching District on 8.07.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Sugnu, Kakching District on 8.07.2022. He was accorded a warm welcome by the District Administration, Kakching at Chingtam Community Hall, Sugnu. Various civil society organisations submitted memoranda to the Governor. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon'ble Governor said that the world is facing an unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, during the last few days, the number of positive cases is increasing in the State. Further, he stated that tree plantation programmes are not conducted in the interest of a few sections of the society but in the interest of the people of the world. Therefore, he appealed to both the valley and hill people not to resist this philanthropic effort in the future. During the interaction, people shared their grievances including shortage of doctors and staff at the Primary Health Centre and lack of infrastructure at hospital, shortage of teachers in Government schools, pathetic road condition and lack of women police. Replying to the grievances of the people, the Hon'ble Governor assured everyone that the problems highlighted by the public, DLOs, CSOs as well as the representatives of the constituencies will be referred to the State Government for immediate necessary action. Further, Chief Medical Officer, Kakching informed that 79% of the district population had been vaccinated. Later the Governor had an interaction programme with DLOs of Kakching district at Sugnu Municipal Council. Among others, Dr. Radheshyam Yumnam, Hon'ble MLA, Hiyanglam, Shri K, Ranjit Singh, Hon'ble MLA, Sugnu also attended the programme.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Wangoi Sub-Division, Imphal West District on 29.06.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Wangoi Sub-Division, Imphal West District on 29.06.2022. He was accorded a warm welcome by the District Administration, Imphal West at the Auditorium of Mayai Lambi College, Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai,Wangoi. The Hon'ble Governor had interactions with Zilla Parishad members, District Level Officers, Pradhans, Civil Society Organisations and Villagers. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon'ble Governor said that various projects have already been taken up by the Central Government for the welfare of the people of the State such as Renewable Energy, Swachh Bharat, Solar System, Opening of Bank Account coupled with Aadhar, Tree Plantation to protect our deteriorating environment, Physical fitness, Elimination of TB by 2025, etc. Benefits of renewable energy are mainly to protect our deteriorating environment as it produces no green house gas emissions from fossil fuels and reduces some type of air pollution, diversify energy supply and reducing dependence on imported fuels and also create economic development and jobs in manufacturing installation and more. Therefore, we should take all these benefits from the Government and I sincerely appeal all of you to take this advantage in consultation with your representative. Further, the Hon'ble Governor said that a few days back, Hon'ble Chief Minister has inaugurated one Drug-Addiction Centre and I am fully confident that this State will be free from drug within a short period of time in case the Government with the full cooperation from the general public, Civil Society Organizations, etc, continues its present tempo.     • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Keirao Sub-Division, Imphal East District on 24.06.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Keirao Sub-Division, Imphal East District on 24.06.2022. He was accorded a warm welcome by the District Administration, Imphal East at Thiyam Konjil Mamang Leikai Community Hall, Keirao. The Hon'ble Governor had interactions with Zilla Parishad members, District Level Officers, Pradhans, Civil Society Organisations and Villagers and during the interaction programme the Hon'ble Governor highlighted the benefits of various Government schemes and the need for enrolment to avail of such benefits. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon'ble Governor said that the central and the state governments have been taking up a number of welfare schemes and programmes through which the needy people are benefitted. With an aim to develop India in all fronts and under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, developmental programmes in many sectors including housing, health, education and infrastructure are being taken up in the country. For providing safe drinking water to every household in the country, Jal Shakti Abhiyan has been implemented. He assured them that he would ask the Chief Minister to take all possible steps at the earliest in the larger interest of the people of the area. Shri L. Rameshwor Meetei, Hon'ble MLA, Keirao AC also attended the interaction programme.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Nambol Sub-Division, Bishnupur District on 17.06.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Nambol Sub-Division, Bishnupur District on 17.06.2022. He was accorded a warm welcome by the District Administration, Bishnupur at Indoor Hall of S. Kula Women's College, Nambol. The Hon'ble Governor had interactions with Hon'ble Ministers, Chairman (LDA), MLAs of Bishnupur District, Zilla Parishad Members, Chairpersons, District Level Officers, Pradhans, CSOs, NGOs, Villagers and Beneficiaries. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Governor stated that people all over the world are facing unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. However, due to the prompt action of Government, this dreaded disease is almost under control. But we have to be still very alert and careful. The Hon'ble Governor also stated that Government of India has committed to eliminate TB from the soil of India by 2025 and make an appeal to conduct a survey within the District to find out number of TB patients and report to the concerned Department so as to enable them to carry out appropriate remedial measures. Further, the Hon’ble Governor stated that to contain and prevent drugs, State Government has already started taking action against the poppy plantation which is welcomed by one and all the people of Manipur from both Valley and Hill Districts.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Machi Sub-Division, Tengnoupal District on 06.05.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Machi Sub-division, Tengnoupal District on 6th May, 2022. He was accorded a warm welcome by the District Administration, Tengnoupal at Machi High School, Machi. The Hon'ble Governor had interactions with representatives of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Village Authorities and the District Level Officers. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon'ble Governor stated that "We as citizens of this country must contribute and co-operate with developmental activities and the Centre has implemented a number of developmental programmes in Manipur and the State Government is working in line with the Central Government". He insisted that there must be at least one hospital in every sub-division to provide proper health care facilities and the Hon'ble Governor asked the district authorities concerned to look into the matter. He expressed concern over the increasing number of drug related cases in the State and urged all to stop indulging in activities which are detrimental to the health and safety of the people. The Hon'ble Governor also urged all concerned to stop planting poppy immediately and added that drug menace is a threat to the society. Earlier, Civil Society Organisations and village chiefs of Machi submitted memoranda to the Hon'ble Governor to take prompt action to address certain issues and highlighted facilities lacking in the village such as health, education, infrastructure and connectivity.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Chakpikarong, Chandel District on 27.04.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Chakpikarong, Chandel district on 27th April, 2022. He was accorded a warm welcome by the District Administration, Chandel at Sabhana Mandop, Chakpikarong. The Hon'ble Governor had interactions with representatives of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Village Authorities and the District Level Officers. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon'ble Governor stated that the government is meant for the people and as such is working to ensure basic needs of the people. He appealed to the people of the district, mainly to those living in the border areas to extend cooperation to the government and stressed the need for all citizens to enrol in the Aadhaar system for authentic identification. Earlier, Civil Society Organisations and village chiefs submitted memoranda to the Hon'ble Governor urging him to look into the grievances of the villagers. During his visit, he planted a tree sapling. Cultural programmes were also presented by the villagers of Chakpikarong.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Nungbi Khullen, Ukhrul District and Kamjong District HQs on April 19-20, 2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Nungbi Khullen (Chingai Sub-Division), Ukhrul District on 19/04/2022. He was accorded warm welcome by the District Administration, Ukhrul along with Village Chiefs at Nungbi Khullen Public Ground, Ukhrul. He had an interaction programme with representatives of Civil Society Organizations, Village Authorities and the District Level Officers. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Governor stated that with the improvement of law and order situation in the State, disturbed area status has been withdrawn from the valley districts spread over 15 police stations. He also urged the villagers to open a bank account (Jan Dhan Yojana for Women) to get the benefits of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Next day (20/04/2022), the Hon,ble Governor visited Kamjong District from Ukhrul, where he was accorded warm welcome by the District Administration at Town Hall, Kamjong District Headquarters. In an interaction with the Civil Society Organizations, Village Authorities and District Level Officers, the Hon’ble Governor stated that "infiltrators are deliberately trying to sneak into the State from Myanmar side, mostly at the border areas as we share a long border line with Myanmar, everyone should be vigilant enough to check such acts and should inform authorities if such cases arise. Being a border State, the Government alone cannot stop such illegal activities without the people’s co-operation".


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to COVID-19 Vaccination Centres in Churachandpur and Bishnupur Districts on 10.02.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited the COVID-19 Vaccination Centres in Churachandpur District on 10.02.2022. He was accorded a warm welcome by the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and other District Level Officials at Churachandpur. He inspected the facilities provided for the vaccination programme, especially for students of age group ranging from 15-18 years and interacted with students who have been vaccinated. He asked the students to be the messengers of the vaccination programme so that many will come out voluntarily to get vaccinated. He also distributed vaccination certificates, badges and pens to the students. Speaking to the students, the Hon'ble Governor said that the State Government is fully prepared to cover the maximum population under COVID-19 vaccination programmes and Doctors, Nurses and Health workers have been engaged for the purpose. He told the students that the time has come for the students to teach their parents, especially in the health sector and Covid vaccination. On the way back to Imphal, he inspected the vaccination centre opened at Moirang Multipurpose Hr. Sec. School Bishnupur District. Dr. N. Shyamjai Singh, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Manipur, Chief Medical Officers of Churachandpur and Bishnupur Districts and other officials also accompanied the Governor.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to COVID-19 Vaccination Centre in Kangpokpi and Senapati Districts on 08.02.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited the COVID-19 Vaccination Centre opened at Inspection Bungalow (IB) Hall, Kangpokpi (Kangpokpi District) on 08.02.2022. He was accorded warm welcome by the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and other district level officials at Inspection Bungalow Hall, Kangpokpi town. He then inspected the facilities provided for the vaccination programme and interacted with students who were waiting for their turn to get vaccinated. He asked the students to be the messengers of the vaccination programme so that many will come out voluntarily to get vaccinated. He also distributed vaccination certificates, badges and pens to the students. Then, the Hon’ble Governor proceeded to the Vaccination Centre opened at Mini Stadium, Senapati (Senapati District) where he was accorded warm welcome by the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and other district level officials at the Mini Stadium, Senapati. The Hon'ble Governor enquired about the preparedness, coverage and people's response to the programme. He distributed vaccination certificates to the beneficiaries. He asked the district administration to communicate school authorities and headmasters/principals for their support to ensure maximum enrolment of students in the vaccination programme. Dr. N. Shyamjai Singh, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Manipur, Chief Medical Officers of Kangpokpi and Senapati Districts and other officials were also present during the visit.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to COVID-19 Vaccination Centre at RIMS, Lamphelpat, Imphal West on 03.02.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited the COVID-19 Vaccination Centre at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Lamphelpat, Imphal on 03/02/2022 and inspected the COVID-19 Vaccination Centre. The Hon'ble Governor distributed COVID-19 vaccination certificates, pens and badges to those fully jabbed with second vaccination doses and precautionary doses belonging to different age groups and professions. He also interacted with doctors, nurses, frontline workers and other related officials of RIMS and Health Department, Manipur and also presented gifts to those medical staff who were stationed at the Vaccination Centre of RIMS. During the inspection visit, the Hon'ble Governor said that Manipur can set a record of 100% vaccination and the vaccination works should be geared up particularly in the hill and rural areas. He added that it is also a good initiative that the number of vaccinated persons in the younger age group is being increased.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to COVID-19 Vaccination Centre at JNIMS, Porompat, Imphal East on 02.02.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited the COVID-19 Vaccination Centre at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Porompat, Imphal East and inspected the COVID-19 Vaccination Centre, operating since January 16, 2021, at JNIMS auditorium. The Hon’ble Governor distributed COVID-19 vaccination certificates, pens and badges to those fully jabbed with second vaccination doses and precautionary doses belonging to different age groups and professions. He also interacted with doctors, nurses, frontline workers and other related officials of JNIMS and Health Department, Manipur and also discussed the status of the vaccination drive in the state with the COVID-19 Vaccination team of JNIMS.

    • Visit of the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur to Jiribam District on 03.12.2021

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Jiribam by Helicopter on 03.12.2021 and had an interaction programme with District Level Officers, Representatives of Civil Society Organizations and public of Jiribam District at Police Guest House, Jiribam. He was accorded warm welcome by the District Administration of Jiribam and presented a shawl and a memento. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Governor informed that people all over the world are facing unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. However, due to the prompt action of our Government, this dreaded disease is going to be overcome very soon. He appealed to all sections of the society to get vaccinated, which is the best way to defeat this pandemic. He urged the people to avail schemes like Van Dhan Yojana under Tribal Affairs Ministry to improve income through value addition of products based on skills and abilities which include life insurance coverage through it and also appealed the people to visit district level officers and get details of the various schemes to develop the district.


    • Interaction Programme with DLOs of Imphal West & Imphal East Districts at Manipur University, Canchipur, Imphal on 27.11.2021

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur had an interaction programme with District Level Officers & renowned personalities of Imphal West and Imphal East Districts at the Centenary Hall, Manipur University, Canchipur, Imphal on 27.11.2021. He was accorded warm welcome by the District Administration of Imphal West and Imphal East and presented a shawl and a memento. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon'ble Governor informed that COVID-19 vaccination has not reached 100 percent mark in both the districts. He encouraged the DLOs to be cautions and work harder to eliminate COVID-19 pandemic completely or else developmental activities will be hindered. He also stated that open defecation should be eliminated.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Senapati and Kangpokpi Districts on 29.10.2021

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Senapati and Kangpokpi Districts on 29.10.2021. He was accorded warm welcome by the District Administration, Senapati at DRDA Conference Hall, Senapati. The Hon'ble Governor had an interaction programme with the District Level Officers and representatives of Civil Society Organisations. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon'ble Governor stated that the country will never die as long as culture is preserved. He appealed to the people to come forward for the COVID-19 vaccination and also appealed to the gathering to maintain cleanliness in the District. Later, on the same day, he also visited Kangpokpi District where he was accorded warm welcome by the District Administration, Kangpokpi at DC's Conference Hall, Kangpokpi. In an interaction programme with the District Level Officers and representatives of Civil Society Organisations, the Hon'ble Governor appealed to increase the rate of COVID-19 vaccination in the District and urged to focus on cleanliness of the District.

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Tengnoupal district on October 25-26, 2021. He was accorded warm welcome by the District Administration at Community Hall, Tengnoupal Village on 25.10.2021. The Hon'ble Governor had a meeting with District Administration and District Level Officers at Community Hall, Tengnoupal. He also had an interaction programme with representatives of Civil Society Organisations and Village Authorities there. The Hon’ble Governor met representatives of Civil Society Organisations of Moreh at Tamil Sangam, Moreh. He also visited Shree Angala Parameshwari, Shree Muneeshwarar Temple, Moreh. The Hon'ble Governor return to Imphal on 26.10.2021.

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Churachandpur district on 23.10.2021. He was accorded warm welcome by the District Administration, Churachandpur at Mini Secretariat Multipurpose Hall. The Hon'ble Governor had an interaction programme with District Level Officers, representatives of Civil Society Organisations and Village Chiefs of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts there. A cultural programme was also presented by the Youth. Various civil society organisations submitted memoranda highlighting their needs to the Governor.


    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Headquarters IGAR (S) at Mantripukhti, Imphal East on 22.10.2021

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Headquarters IGAR (S), Mantripukhri on 22.10.2021. He was accorded a warm welcome by the Assam Rifles led by Maj. Gen. Alok Naresh, IGAR (S) at Main Office Complex, HQ IGAR and briefed the role and contribution of the Assam Rifles to maintain peace and tranquility in Manipur. The Hon'ble Governor had an interaction programme with Officers, JCOs and Jawans of Assam Rifles. The Hon'ble Governor laid a wreath to the fallen soldiers of Assam Rifles at the memorial site. The Hon’ble Governor had also interaction with the school children and also felicitated the war veterans/ex-servicemen for their services to the Nation and Veer Naris for the sacrifices they rendered for the country.

    • Hon'ble Governor's visit to Bishnupur District on 16.10.2021

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Gopinath Mandir, Ningthoukhong and Keibul Lamjao National Park, Bishnupur district on 16.10.2021. He was accorded warm welcome by the District Administration, Bishnupur at Keibul Lamajo National Park. The Hon'ble Governor had an interaction programme with the district level officers, families of freedom fighters and representatives of civil society organisations there. As a part of the programme, the Hon'ble Governor presented gifts to families members of freedom fighters and representatives of CSOs. Some District Level Officers highlighted shortage of staff and other issues to the Governor.

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur visited Chandel district headquarters on 11th October, 2021. He was accorded warm welcome by the district administration, Chandel. The Hon'ble Governor had an interaction with the district level officers, members of civil society organisations and also met public leaders. As a part of the programme, the Hon'ble Governor also honoured the families of two Kargil War Martyrs from Naga Regiment. A cultural programme was also presented by the Troupe of Chandel Youth Club. Various civil society organisations submitted memoranda highlighting their needs to the Governor.

    • Attended a function of promotion of COVID-19 Vaccination amongst the students at City Convention Centre on 11.02.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur attended a function, mainly for promotion of COVID-19 Vaccination amongst the students at City Convention Centre, Imphal East on 11.02.2022. Hon'ble Governor appealed to all sections of the society to disseminate the message of coming forward voluntarily for Covid-19 vaccination irrespective of caste, creed and religion. Speaking at an interaction programme on Vaccination of Students in the age group of 15-18 years and Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff, Hon'ble Governor informed that people should not have faith in any baseless, wrong conception regarding Covid-19. He lauded the relentless efforts and dedication of doctors, scientists and frontline workers to their duties. The Governor also expressed his satisfaction over the initiative taken up by the Education and Health Departments to vaccinate students of age group 15-18 yrs. Director of Education (S) Shri L. Nandakumar placed a detailed report regarding the vaccination drive. Commissioner of Education (S) Shri M. Joy Singh asserted that the Covid-19 pandemic has been a global issue and as such, people need to be united to combat this pandemic. Principals and Headmasters from across the State participated in the interaction programme physicallly and virtually.


    • Martyrs Day at Gandhi Memorial Hall, Imphal on 30.01.2022

      Shri. La Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur attended the Martyrs' Day function at Gandhi Memorial Hall, Imphal on 30.01.2022. The Hon'ble Governor placed a wreath at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Shri N. Biren Singh, Chief Minister, Shri Y.     • Visit to Rani Gaidinliu Park, Chingmeirong, Imphal East on 26.01.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur attended the 107th birth anniversary of Rani Gaidinliu at Rani Gaidinliu Park, Chingmeirong, Imphal East on 26.01.2022. He laid a wreath at the statue of Rani Gaidinliu and also paid floral tribute to the freedom fighter.

      The 73rd Republic Day Celebrations was observed in the State Capital, Imphal on 26/01/2022. Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur unfurled the National Flag at Kangla and took the salute of the March Past contingents.


    • Inaugural Ceremony of Play Ground-cum-Children's Park at Raj Bhavan Complex on 21.01.2022

      Shri La. Ganesan, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur inaugurated the Play Ground cum Children's Park located at the southernmost side of the Raj Bhavan Complex, on 21/01/2022 at 1100 hours. After inaugurating the playground, he distributed sweets to the children and also stated that the newly developed playground will facilitate people working in the Raj Bhavan, especially women and children by enabling them to take morning walks, jog and exercise. Shri Bobby Waikhom, Secretary to Governor, Shri S. Pritamkumar Singh, Joint Secretary to Governor, Shri Y. Ibomcha Singh, Principal Private Secretary to Governor and Staff of the Raj Bhavan including those who are residing in the quarters also attended the ceremony.
